"There seems to be no loyalty left to the American worker," said Machinists aerospace coordinator Ron Eldridge, who is based in Wichita.
Hawker Beechcraft spokesman Andrew Broom said the company would not confirm the strategy outlined in the document.
"We have internal documents that are plans and analysis, and we don't always go forward on all of those," Broom said.
The company has been "very open about our plans in Mexico," he said.
Of course, this document lays out how they are NOT open about their plans at all.
This story is just beginning.

Anyone who believes it when HBC says they dont have plans to increase the amount of work that is sent to Mexico is not of this earth. Remember all of our brothers and sisters that lost their jobs in the wire harness shop. This after the company said that the work would stay here. Remember Jim Schusters words..."It doesnt matter if the labor costs are zero, the work is still going to Mexico." That is the mentality of our leadership and from what I have seen in the past year NOTHING HAS CHANGED!!!!!! Wake up everyone. This is never going to change without a FIGHT!!!
Although I am not in favor of jobs going to other countries, I can see unions pricing themselves out of the market of low technology jobs. In mexico you can pay a worker for a week on 2 hours pay for a production worker in the U.S. We still have to meet the FAA standards and requlations to certify the aircraft. That won't change. There will be more U.S. Quality control and inspection jobs to manage the parts and assmblies. Our competition is are already using low cost labor; Cessna, Bombardier, Embraer, and others. We have to reduce costs. We are growing and I have not any plans to reduce head count here, only to increase our capacity as our aircraft orders increase steadily since 9/11. Workers think that if they learn one skill they are set, but not so in a technology increasing world. A person must always be learning and improving himself to stay in the job market or get left behind. This is a wakeup call for union workers, get in school and get a degree; don't settle for a one skill job. Increase your value, don't depend on the union to keep your job, it is up to you, the individual. You live in America land of opportunity and freedom. You are in charge of your life and future, no one else is. This world is NOT standing still, it is moving ahead at break neck speed, so don't get left behind in the dust!
The union seems to dig up OLD news to spread contention so they think they'll have control when the contract comes up this month. They are looking for anything to complain about. Schuster and the people running this company now have a piece of the company they didn't have before when we were with Raytheon. They'll make the company profititable. Look what Schuster did, bringing us back from the brink of bankrupsy. We don't have a parent company to borrow money from anymore. We have to make our own. It's like moving out of you parent's house. You get lean and cut costs everywhere so you can to survive in the world. You get a whole lot wiser. Hey I say if you have a job these days you should do everything you can to keep it, but not sell your self short. Add value to yourself - got to school.
Anon, thanks for the respectful and thoughtful comment, even though you disagreed.
Let's talk about this. First, how much is "pricing ourselves out of the market?" Is $20 an hour cheap enough? How about $10? How about $5?
No matter WHAT we take, there will be those who will work cheaper, until all working people are working for starvation wages. HBC is already quite profitable. They pay nearly $3 an hour less than Cessna pays. And no one else is planning final assembly in Mexico.
We can never compete with Mexico for wages, there are people who will work for nothing.
So, if we have things your way, we all starve. This is greed, plain and simple. The less they pay the workers, the more they make. It's big shots taking money out of your pocket to put in theirs.
And they borrow PLENTY of money from the taxpayers. While taking our tax money, they are cutting back-room deals with the Mexican government.
And READ the powerpoint, anon. They are planning fully assembled aircraft, and they talk about FAA standards. They have a plan to have fully assembled aircraft flying off the runway in Mexico, FAA certified, without one American hand touching it.
It will happen if we don't stop it. Help us, join us. It's your job that will be gone, too. Look at all the other industries that had folks like you who said they could never do it. They were wrong.
Let's not let it happen here.
I respect anyone who shares their opinion on here, but Schuster has done nothing good for this company. All he has done is show up at the right time to take the hero status of saving the company that he does not deserve.Think about it he showed up when the aircraft business was in the tank, Cessna, and Lear were also strugling at that time. He was brought in for one reason and that was as a head hunter. Lets see what has he really done. He sold Beech lake property that was supposed to belong to the employees, He sent our wire harness to Mexico which eliminated 250-300 American Jobs. He outsourced our landing Gear to Elab who is one of our upcoming competiters in the market place Embriair, Several small parts assemblys to the New plant in Mexico. There are several other things also that have been outsourced Like Plastics and hoses which took jobs directy from Wichita and the surronding community. Why has he done this? I'll tell you why so him and all his Non American cronies can have bigger bonuses and more stock options. They don't give a rip about the American worker or their family as long as they get their money. They would probably sell their own mother for a buck.So don't kid yourself until we the American labors stand up for our rights to make a decent living people like Schuster and his Non American cronies are going to keep raping the American Manufacturing industies until there is no more and the United States is a 3rd world country Because there is no middle class people to keep the economy going
